Hi everyone,Let me ask this because I will shortly shift to US where neither sulpiride nor amisulpride is available. I tried to get off amisulpride, but the rebound anxiety is awesome. Xanax doesn't help in low doses.
Please share your experiences with Zyprexa, Seroquel or Geodon. Can any of these be used in the place of amisulpride? I have heard that Zyprexa and Seroquel are highly sedating. Would there be another choice of medication in case I am running out of Amisulpride?
Please..Cheers
PLS

I don't know your med but seroquel knocked me out. And I've taken benzos for years. I just recently tried adding .5xanax and nothing. Love Phillipa

Abilify (Aripiprazole) is an atypical antipsychotic (like amisulpride), and is not considered to be sedating. In broad terms, it seems somewhat similar to me.
It is different than amisulpride in terms of pharmacalogical effects (action at D2 receptors, 5ht and other), but it's the closest I can think of for a replacement. Many people have good results with it, and perhaps because of that, it's expensive. I hope you have insurance

Stelazine is supposedly close to amisulpride. I've heard low dose risperdal is similar. Abilify might be similar, though it often has strong start-up anxiety. For immediate anti-anxiety zyprexa or seroquel would work, but yes, they are sedating, seroquel being like being shot with an elephant dart.

Amisulpride is available in the USA. You just have to order from international pharmacies. You would have to do some searching on google. Look for deniban or solian. I've ordered it several times of the last 10 years with no problem. Once the package was even opened and approved by Customs with a green sticker that said "supplements".
