I have some strange feelings going on or should I say lack thereof. I went off my AD (remeron) about 4 months ago. I am on 300 mg lithium which does nothing for me. I take lunesta at night for sleep.
The problem is I appear to have little feelings. Can't really cry, don't feel the thrill (chest palps) during sex, or anytime really. I do get very anxous at tmes and this is usually after eating. About 90% of the time I get spacey and anxious after eating. I don't have anxiety attacks but just a blunted feeling. I keep thinking feelings are going to return but they haven't.
I should state I don't really feel depressed or unbearable anxiety. I fear I will be like this forever. I have anxiety/ocd issues which is my main dx. Anybody else have ANY idea what is going on in my body? I should also state it is hard to read too. I just can't seem to complete full paragraphs and my concentration definately sucks. I know sleep is hard to come by but can lack of good sleep cause this emotional blunting? I am a sensivtive person and that has been my problem so this is very strange. Thank you

I have all the same problems. Though I've been off meds for a while -- emotions seem to be coming back a little, but it could just be wishful thinking. Concentration horrible, etc. Though I don't know how you'd expect to gain emotions while on lithium, if it's anything like ssri's, it'll do that to you untill you quit.

My pdoc wants me off of lithium. He says he has no idea why I was treated with it since I am not bipolar. I never thought it could contribute to my blunt feeling. I have reduced it from 600 to 300 about 5 weeks ago. I have some improvement and the first few days were kind of rough but it improved. Hmm, something to think about for sure since I am totally med sensitive. Thanks
