I'm order to decrease my anxety to a manageable level, I've had to increase my Xanax dosage. However, it's starting to effect my healthy lifestyle habits! I'm too tired and lack motivation to work out. If I take a high doses due to an extremely anxiety producng event, I almost go into that drunk eating mode where you just ingest large amounts unhealthy foods in effort to counter the weird feeling in your head.
I like working out. It improves my mood. But lately I could care less. And am gaining weight because of this. I'm on Provigil, which allows me to get out of bed, but not countering the Xanax enough.

>The weird feeling could just be normal euphoria. People eat both to compensate anxiety and depression or feel little appetite because of it, it entirely varies

I can understand the feeling, I have gained a few lately because I haven't gone daily to the gym and tend to have more naps. One can burn up to twice as many calories per minute just by being awake. But it is a hard thing to just make oneself go out the door. The reward might be waiting though.

Maybe try a different benzo, like Klonopin? Xanax actually enervates me; but I know it makes some folks feel mighty weird. The ol' "a benzo is a benzo" line is b*llshit.

It sure is as seriously xanax does have a mild antidepressant effect. but I never felt high from it. I think people drink and take it to get high. And I was thinking suicidally on klonopin. Just my experiences with two that struck me the most. Oh I have a script for xanax with my valium but I never take it unless I can't sleep. Reason I switched to valium was the xanax started making me tired instead of relaxed as it used to for years. Wierd huh? Love Phillipa
