Any amount of stain, including vacuuming a carpet, or even just drinking a coffee (hot liquid) causes me to sweat like crazy since I started these meds.
Nardil alone caused this for me. I sweat on the forehead, face, and mainly the back of the neck. No real underarm sweat!
Adding Zyprexa made the condition worse.
I change 3 shirts a night, usually soaking them around the neck, back of the shoulder area.
Does this happen to anyone else on these meds?
Has anyone found a decent "fix" for the insomnia that these meds cause?

I have excessive sweating from Nardil, too. This summer has been a trial. My pdoc hasn't offered any solutions for it, though.
Ambien works for me pretty well for the insomnia associated with Nardil.

Just my opinion, but if ur in fair shape, and its an unsual sweat, with any type of odd body effect,i mean even the smallest change of normal pyshcial effect,.....then this is what ive come to know as medications interacting,
They are not interacting on a level too bad where it will cause u any severe problems, except they wont just quit doing it,ive come across this on trials of combos,it stops when the add medication is removed.
I will sweat, usualy starting on my forehead firts,i will feel stimulated in a very odd sense,a lil shaky, this is not good,if this sounds familiar id seriously look into it.
Like i said this is usualy a incication of a minor interaction, odd is benzos usualy agivate it unless its a very high dose high enough to knock me out.
Sleep is almost impossable,as everytime u lay down, something makes u wanna pop back up,and when ur up,u wanna lay down,i know this sceniro i speak of,dont know if its what you are having, but i had it when i added a small amount of a certain tca to a maoi,.
When a med combo is working well,i dont sweat abnormaly.

I'm in fair shape, and I've read about people sweating from these meds. There's a drug that can combat it (forget the name) but my doc says it isn't good to mix it with an MAOI.
I got the strange sweat from different SSRI's too, as well as Nardil. The side-effect listing for Zyprexa even mentions the sweating. When I added Zyprexa, the sweating got worse. It's really, really annoying as I barely have to strain myself at all before starting to sweat. It's more like your body is overheating.. I read that many AD's can alter your body's ability to cool itself, and I believe that's what's happening here.
I even caught a cold because of it.. the weather started to change here, and so the wet shirt mixed with the colder weather made me sick. I pretty much slept all day, and feel really weak. My 2nd p-doc appt is tomorrow too (with the latest doc).. I hope I'm better by then!
I hear ya on the fatigue, sleep problems. MAOI's are notorious for insomnia. I've tried several sleep aids with no luck. The most I can sleep, is about 4 hours in a row. The lack of decent sleep is killing me.. I'm fatigued all day, "crash" when in a seated position, usually... I usually have to take 1-2 naps a day to make up for the lack of sleep, but still, I'm never refreshed.
Trying OTC Melatonin now (please Dr. Bob, don't redirect). It worked the first time I tried it, but not the 2nd or 3rd times.. Meaning, the first night with it, I slept 4-5 hours in a row without waking up every hour, and then was able to go back to bed after getting up for a short time, and slept another 4 hours. First time in months.
Ambien XR? didn't work for me, at all. I've also maxed out Lunesta, which used to work to a degree, and now does not.
I'm trying higher and higher doses of Melatonin each night, so we'll see what happens.
Just one day, I'd like to sleep for 8 hours in a row, and wake up refreshed. Ya know, like normal people do. ;)
