Just started taking Effexor 75mg, for 5 days now, the first time ever i have had to take anything like this what so ever. It worked great the first few days. But now i seem to be getting more irritable to my wife. Do you think it's cause she says stuff to me like " look at you , you can't even handle life". Does she just not give a shi* about me or does she just not know the extend of my problem. I need some answers, please. This seems to be getting worse. WHAT TO DO!?!?@?@?

5 days isn't long enough to know what might be temporary and what might not. Lots of times side effects disappear after a while.
Also, are you in any counseling? That might help w/ some of the other stuff that you describe. It is hard to get better if the only thing that changes in your life is the meds.

Effexor can cause irritability, but its probably too soon to tell how it will afect you in the long term.
It is not fair for your wife to be critical of a problem significant enought to seek medical attention.
Please do let her know that her comments are not helping to improve the situation. You may benifit from counelling ?

I agree with the above couseling with the med is a must. Your wife needs to be educated on meds. Thats very important. You need support. Love Phillipa
