Cymbalta, Valium and sweating

Posted by Wildflower on August 10, 2006, at 19:15:35

After taking a few months off from ADs, my doctor put me back on them. I've been on many combos but never this one. I took one Cymbalta capsule and started sweating within an hour. Does anyone know if there's a chance that the valium will counteract that side effect?

I've taken Cymbalta before but I don't remember having this sweating reaction so quick.

Even though it's an SSNRI it has serotonin and serotonin can make you sweat. What other meds have you tried and did you sweat on them?. Love Phillipa

I've tried so many over the years and this one worked so well last time. I think I sweated then but I was so far into depression (and I never left the house) that I didn't really care. For this round, I'm going to skip the Cymbalta and see if I can try something else. Besides, Cymbalta had a nasty sexual side effect if I recall. If I start dating someone, I'd hate to have that interfere. ;-)

cymbalta made me sweat, particularly the first week or so after increasing the dose. Since I take it at bedtime that means nighttime sweats. yay..

It gets better though, but it's important to avoid getting overheated. stay in the shade, drink lots of ice water, and avoid exercise on hot humid days.
