Also atypical antipsychotics like abilify or geodon. (I'm assuming that you tried a TCA?)

Best,

MAOIs are recommended, as well as augmentation strategies like adding Lamictal, Lithium, Provigil. Rarely stimulants, although it is done.

It would help, though, to know what you've tried, what's helped, what's made things worse, and what sorts of symptoms trouble you most. If you have TR-anxious-D, for example, something like Wellbutrin or Provigil probably wouldn't be a good add on, you know?

Also, SLS posted something recently about showing stages of treatment resistance. It's worth looking at it, and getting an idea from that if there's something that you've missed.

Good luck.

ECT...and then retry an AD then go to one of the older meds if neccessary. That is what I am planning on doing.

Zyprexa can help dramatically and rapidly, but I don't think it's a very pleasant drug due to its side effects-in my case bizarre bodily feelings, like feeling outside of my body, and voracious appetite. After awhile it starts inducing mild hallucinations for me, too. I've used a very low dose twice for very, very brief periods to "climb out" of very dark states. Others might have had better experiences with it. I also hear it is extremely effective for many people in combination with prozac.

As for provigel, I tried that and didn't find it anxiety-inducing or "stimulating" at all- just wakeful. Very unusual.

good luck!

Big time QFE on that. What treatments has your depression resisted?
