Which seems to work better for anxiety? Cymbalta or Effexor?
My gyno wants me to take Lexapro, but Celexa made me gain a ton of weight and Lexapro makes me feelthe same way!

I was not happy with the amount of fatigue and lethargy that Cymbalta produced for me.
Everyone is different. (Standard axiom).

Cymbalta was helpful for my anxiety.

I had the same experience as Scott with the Cymbalta. I added Klonopin to Effexor to take care of the leftover anxiety - I have OCD, GAD and SP!

I have a long track record with both...and I would have to say that Cymbalta edges out Effexor in the category of treating anxiety, both psychic and somatic. Mileage varies of course.

Cymbalta sent my anxiety through the roof and was still causing anxiety after a month on it.
Effexor did seem to help with the anxiety but didn't do much for my depression although I'm not sure if I went high enough on it.

Cymbalta (90mg) helped my depression & anxiety, but it was subtle. The addition of seroquel 12.5 mg helped with my nighttime panic and neverending anxious thoughts.
I wasn't scared to drive on the autobahn, which is pretty amazing given that i get panicky when driving.
I had to add provigil 200mg in the am, because I was kind of sluggish and really fatigued.
now I'm okay
