I've been on Effexor for 8 months and have gained 15 pounds. Has anyone else had this kind of weight gain??? I can't seem to lose more than 3-4 pounds.

Has it helped your depression? Were you not eating as much when you were depressed? Maybe the weight gain is from eating normally again. How are you trying to lose the weight? Are you doing it through exercise?

My doc put me on Effexor for anxiety and ADD symptoms. It has helped with the anxiety but I'm still as ADD as ever. I don't think my eating habits had changed. Even my husband said I wasn't overeating but the weight was piling on. I've cut out all "bad" carbs, limited the "good" carbs, added more protein, and started exercising 30-45 min. 5 times a week. I've been doing this for about 6 weeks and have only dropped 3 pounds. My thyroid is fine. I just don't understand.
