curious if anyone has found a doc to prescribe subutex that doesn't have that stupid license. i've read in some sites that you don't have to have the license to prescribe it off-label.
i find the whole thing confusing. so anyone has any information i would appreciate it

You don't have to have the DEA waiver in any state to prescribe Subutex or Suboxone to someone for depression (or pain) who is NOT an opioid addict and not in opioid addiction treatment. A doctor just needs a Schedule III certification, which virtually all of them have (like for Ritalin).
Alternatively, they can prescribe liquid Buprenex (Schedule V, I think), which never requires a DEA waiver.
My pdoc was actually willing to take the 8-hour course and get the DEA waiver, but then we discovered that she didn't need it. Have your pdoc talk to a top pharmacy in your area if he/she is still unsure about the law.

I was very intersted too,but was told dont waste my time by my doc and pharmacy.

I don't understand.
You mean they thought buprenorphine wouldn't work for you? Or your doc wouldn't prescribe it? Why would the pharmacy say anything about your psychiatrist's treatment decisions?

Ah sorry for the vague comment,my doc well my now retired doc,used to listen if i had a med or two id ask for,she was and when i mentioned that she said there was no way she was using that drug its not something she uses.
Then while outside with my pharmacy friend smoking,i told him about it,he said yeah they have it,he said they are under strict restrictions on there carrying it,and honestly he knows who comes in for it,and its ex herion users and he told me his personal opinion was no local doc except the one local one he knows of that treats ex users are going to prescribe that.

Yeah, buprenorphine sure has a stigma. Maybe, I'm starting to think, more than actually abusable opioids like Vicodin.

I would never take anybody else's word (even a physician's) for what someone else will or won't prescribe. I've seen too many times that they really don't know what they're talking about.
My ex-pdoc told me no one in our area would prescribe either naltrexone or buprenorphine for me. She was wrong on both counts.
