My insurance company have suddenly balked at paying for focalin xr. When I calle dthem they asked *me* for the jcode for focalin xr, saying they couldn't find the medication in their database.
Does anyone know what this four digit codce is for focalin xr?
Sounds weird to me.

Seems to me they should have inquired about the j code to your doc or pharmacy. Actually, they should have any number of sources they could go to to find it. All that bill coding reimbusement stuff isn't something that should be your responsibility to find out. As often as that stuff changes and "updates" is why there are coding folks who do that all day as a living.
I would check with your doc or pharmacist office staff in records and billing as a resource for this I guess. There are online sources but most are a fee database system for billing purposes of medical related offices. And there are coding books - for a price. Again, for billing coding purposes or I guess if that stuff excites anyone to use for light reading. (smile) Someone might know of something different but that's the only nonhelp I have to offer.
Good Luck

I don't know the J Code -- as said, the pharmacy or doctor should should chew out your insurance, not yourself. These are usually codes that may or may not differ from insurance companies (?) The FDA NDA code for the drug itself is 021802, and is on its Prescribing Information itself.
