Here is a small study i found just doing some quick browsing, this site by the way seems to have abstracts on just about every medication, and a lot of it seems to be at the least fairly accurate, how they manage to test so many drugs is beyond me,however i seen a repeat of a certain medication which leads me to believe they have their information contributed and probuably are careful with what information they choose to use.Nevertheless here is a short article about klonopin, its pretty encouraging.

P.S I personaly feel a lot of W/D cases of benzos are in conjunction with underlying anxiety still being present,as well as over inhibitation.
I dont believe a benzo can be used to often alone, unless its for panic attacks and used as needed.
If used on a daily basis i feel strongly that there should be the presence of some form of mild stimulant,i personaly have seen very little success in the treatment of any emotional disorder using a gaba med alone, from Benzos...to GHB.....to Anti-convulsant mood stablizers the over load of gaba always seems to show itself in the form of either worsened depression, and or increased anxiety. Its just not as simple as needing to increase gaba, benzos do so much more than that and they are in my opinion the most effective treatment for severe anxiety. There is more going on,gaba is just a part of the problem.Just my opinion of course, anyway if u havent read the article i pasted above, its extremly small and i feel worth it.

Klonopin has been the only med that has tackled my social anxiety disorter. I agree that most will need another med with it to improve depression that seems to come from both the anxiety disorter as well as the side effects of klonopin. Provigil can be a good blend with klonopin for energy, but by far EMSAM has worked the best for me. I think there are to many benzo phobic doctors out there and many people are suffering that don't have to. Anyway, klonopin is responsible for me living a productive life. Before taking it I couldn't hardly leave the house.

Exactly, and i believe too many people forget that and get wrapped up in the whole fear of benzos,my friend would rather chain smoke and grab and pull at her sweater, shirt, look around and etc instead of taking the xanax she is PRESCRIBED cause she is scared of dependeance.
A doc told me once, not my current, one i seen in ER,that i need to understand flat out i have anxiety, and i need to take enough klonopin to address that, and as long as i take .25 as needed and not go higher i wont get the results i look for,i believe she had a point.
The term CANT MAKE AN OMELLETTE WITHOUT BREAKING SOME EGGS is true, most postive things in life have a curve to it.
Logicaly i see this,i just either cant find a doc willing to give me the dose i need,or i myself contradict my belief and hold off .Ok enough rambling just a thought.

In my opinion the ER doctor was right. If you don't take a high enough dose, it won't be much help. I think that's the biggest reason some people don't respond to it. They don't take a theraputic dose. With anxiety disorters, most seem to need between 1 and 4mgs.
Good luck

> Good luckCombined with the SSRI, I only need .25 mg of klonopin. I guess if it's the only thing you're taking, you would need more. I took .5 mg of klonopin yesterday and I slept way too much, so I'll stick to .25 mg if needed.

>Gawd, I know, they always give us the third degree about dependence and withdrawal when it comes to benzos, so much that it makes us nervous to take it at all! Funny, they don't give us the third degree when it comes to taking SSRIs, and those are just as bad for withdrawal and dependence. I get the whole story everytime I even MENTION taking a benzo for anything, and I only take them maybe once a week or so, only AS NEEDED! I'm smart enough to not take them when I don't need them. Stupid doctors. :D
