I started Wellbutrin 2 months ago at 150mg per day. It was awful with increased anxiety and irritability. I had energy but it was restless, driven energy. I went to 100mg per day after one month, then 100 mg every other day (2 weeks now). Yesterday my doctor prescribed Effexor at 37.5 x 2 times per day to help me get off the Wellbutrin when I insisted I wanted off it. He said we could taper to 37.5 once per day after a few weeks. I'm considering just taking it once per day now. This morning was my first dose. Can anyone comment on the effect on anxiety of Effexor vs Wellbutrin - that's my worst problem.

I had horrible anxiety on wellbutrin but never took the combo. Google on the bottom of the page Dr. Bob's effexor you will find a lot of threads good and bad. Hope this helps. Love Phillipa
