I've been at 750mg/day Depakote EC, with 4mg/day Xanax for a month. Since I have tolerated the Depakote well, my GP increased the daily to 1250mg.
Other than occasional blurred vision (which I have experienced even without Depakote), I have not seen anything significant yet in terms of SEs. From what I have learned about the med, I'm well below the mid-range dose, so I wouldn't expect any notable SEs at 1250mg/day.
I'd appreciate any thoughts Depakote vets might have on this dosage.
Thanks.

I only went up to 1000mg tried 1250 and it was hard to adjust to that and felt WORSE not better. After years on it I am much better WITHOUT it.
But I was taking it for migraines (helped some I guess) and my pdoc said he thought it might help provide a floor for the depression. I'm just glad to be rid of it.
