Yesterday (Easter Sunday) was the first time i've been to Church since starting Parnate nearly 2.5 mos. ago. Having social phobia, going to Church can be very difficult and uncomfortable for me. Yesterday was different however, I felt relaxed, enjoyed the experience much more than i used to, and i felt, and was very social. It was so nice for a change! Parnate has helped my social phobia problem emensely.
Now, i know that many of you do not believe in God, and i'm not going to preach. I am a Christian by faith, and yesterday in Church i thought about my many friend's here at psycho-babble. I felt God was urging me to pray for many of you..so i did. I prayed for those who i know are suffering terribly; Marty, Tepi, Scott, Blueberry, Phillipa, Maxime, Linkadge, Ed, John, Tigereyes, Jeroen, Rocket, and more. If your name's not on the list please forgive me, but it really doesn't matter because i also prayed for everyone here...because i know that we are all suffering. The main reason i'm telling you all this, is that it is my way of saying that you people are very impt. to me, i care deeply for each of you (even the one's i disagree with :) and i thank you for being my friends!

Hey Crazy one --Thanks a lot for the prayer -- I dont want to look like .. anyway But for a fourth day of withdrawal I felt good! better than the 3 day and then today (5 day).. being with families and needing to socialize should have been very difficult but strangely has been quite easy and even fun... your prayer ? :)
Question for you, do you think MAOI are making sharing feelings with others more easily ? in the same way Extasy do ? Just look at ourself.. I wasn't emotional and expressional in that way before Nardil .. I find it to be a great thing ! I love it... do you feel the same ?
I pray God to bless you too.
.. to bless them all.

I don't know. I definitey tell my wife and boys i love them more frequently..is it because i feel better or due to some increase in a specific chemical? I like feeling this way, that's all i know. I love you man!! LOLMonte

AHAHAHNot long ago my girlfriend was shouting to me about this and that and for an unknown reason I started to cry!!! LOLL usually I cry only when really depressed. This was weird but kind of relieving ...
I heard most AD was decreasing Testosterone and increase Prolactin.. changing balance in regard to estrogene.. could be one of the factor.. the other could be related to serotonin and dopamine..
got to go.. sniff sniff
Marty, love xoxo loll

I appreciate the prayer and the encouraging thoughts. I have noticed that people on MAOIs have a better time expressing their emotions and being talkative, this is something that I need. I am so very withdrawn.

It certainly wasn't estrogen in my case. The hair on my head started to fall out and I started to grow some on my chest. Sounds more androgenic to me. I actually WANTED to do those little romantic things that women just love and I wasn't even trying to get lucky. Unfortunatly, It turned out that I was allergic to Parnate so I had to discontinue and on round two on it was a complete dud!

I find parnate to do the following,it is a benzo of depression.Meaning its extremly fast acting, can stop a horrid episode dead in its tracks.
But like a benzo it has a half life of 4 hours so its not very long lasted.
Second it doesent actualy stop anxiety, instead it seems to make u content with dealing with the anxiety, the fear of doing things with the anxiety is diminished.
I personaly dont see much social benifit, what i see it does is if you MUST attack a social situation the fear is dimnished and you can handle it,HOWEVER parnate seems to make me wanna isolate myself and take on projects,it doesent ease my mind to say hey i wanna drop everything and go relax like i should,in fact ill ask parnate users do u remeber ever taking it and sitting down to a movie,or instead begin to think of the bills u needed paying, groceris projects etc and instead take those.I think that gaba effect needs to be there and its not with parnate, and nardil is just a different medication all around i wish it were just parnate with gaba qualites.

Before Parnate i needed 8-10 mgs. of Ativan just to make it through a day. After 2.5 mos. on Parnate my Ativan intake is down to 3 mgs a day and that is only because I have developed a dependency for it, what i mean is i only take because of the dependency factor, not because i need it for anxiety. I'm currently tapering it and plan to be off soon. Since parnate kicked in, i truthfully have not had any anxiety whatsoever. I am also very social, very relaxed around people. I love to talk with people every day. Before Parnate i avoided contact with people. It works different for everybody, for me it has lifted my depression and wiped out all anxiety and social fear.

I know your just trying to learn about options if need-and that's good. These two meds are part of the huge arsonal of augmentation agents i have recorded for Parnate.
Hey, I just ate my first Pizza on an MAOI!! Pretty cool,Huh? My wife made it, with of course only Mozzarella cheese and lots of vegies. I must admit i was a little apprehensive but i did it anyway and enjoyed the heck out of it!Monte

Oh man, I hope I get this effect! The most severe symptom of my depression is an inability to get stupid daily junk like that done. I always enjoy a movie, but might go for *weeks* without washing the dishes. (Gross, I know.) I'm pretty much the walking definition of anergic, amotivational depression.

I was a good effect for me also having come from ssris i became quite ambitious, but over a long run u just wanna relax.
I have also after reading pubmed abstracts taken parnate with both Wellbutrin and Ritalin and both i cant perosnaly recomend,i actualy find pure caffiene tabs,be it No Doz or Vivarin about 200 mg a tab to go much better when parnate is creating fatique, however i have built a tolerance to it all, except the rialin /parnate combo drove me maniac and i dident even know it and was partly the only drug combo that landed me in ER.
