Yep, the pharmacy tells me I'll have EMSAM in hand tomorrow. It's finally here.
My first day will be Saturday, I'll be taking the 20mg dose. I'll post my results. I hope it will be worth the long wait, we'll see......

Did you ask the pharmacy specifically to buy EMSAM from the wholesaler, as you had a EMSAM script to fill, or did they just so happen to get it in stock. In either case, I have a script for it as well, but I didn't think to bother calling until mid April. I too wish you success, having selfish reasons for saying so. You certainly are persistent.

Have you tried a MAOI in the past?
Thanks and good luck.

Yes, persistent, more like impatient. I have have been relentless with my calls to bms, the pharmacies, my doctor to get to this day after waiting for years, searching info, etc.Once I knew that it was getting close, I'd call BMS every few days. I found an ear at BMS that was very interested in how much I knew about the product. She was just in customer service, but did some extra leg work to get real details of when rep's would have samples (which I'm told are real sparce, though you can have your doctor call BMS and request samples) and when it was being shipped (today or next Monday I was told).
But being persistent, I called a few of the bigger pharmacies to just check and see if they had it in their systems by chance at which time it it dawned on me that the smaller pharmacies without all the red tape would probably have quicker access to buying it (which turned out to be true).
I'm sure I'll pay a much higher price for this first script, but I'll switch it next refil (should I still be on it) to get the lowest cost as my insurance won't cover it. I'm certain that it's going to be very expensive.
Anyway, I hope to have it in hand by noon at which time I'll stick the fricking thing on my upper torso and finally see if I can get some relief.
I'll post as I go along for those that may have some interest in my experience on the EMSAM. I've never followed any single drug like this before and don't plan on doing it again, I'm worn out. Rob

This is my first try with an MAOI. My doc has always felt I would probably respond well to an MAOI and I was finally ready (no longer afraid) to try Nardil or Parnate, but chose to just wait it out and see if EMSAM got approved. If I don't do well I'll most likely try one of the others, we'll see. Rob

I have been waiting - like many, I know - My bad news for this morning is the price of Emsam. My local Pharacist, who said he is giving me a good price, quoted $444.00 for 30 of the 6mg. I was expecting expensive, but this is unreal. It will probably be less at Costco, but they are not showing it yet. Even at half the price I can't afford it! If things aren't depressing enough, already. Richard

Yep, just picked up EMSAM. $440 for 30 patches I'm sorry to report. Insane. Should it work my only hope is that the price will come down particularly with the bigger pharmacies.
Anyway, I've got the patch on, I'll post how I do. Rob

I wish I could try this, but I have severe anxiety, so anything that is at all activating is not going to go over well with me. :(

I'm confused. According to
at least the way I read it, you can take 2-5 mg doses of selegiline a day with no dietary restrictions. Then why is a 6 mg/day transdermal patch necessary? Also, the article seems to be saying that 10 mg a day may not be enough for depression. I'm confused.

Bassman what you said sounds correct anything higher that 6mg requires dietary restrictions 2 5 patch. I guess the degree of the depression is a factor that why I want to know how bad is depression considered to try the low dose patch and what about if your depression is caused by high anxiety will it help or hinder you. And I only get $850 a monthe for social security disability so dose that mean besides trying to find a doc who will use it that I will not be able to afford something that in the long rung will save money for the government? A 6 mg transdermal dose isn't the same as a 6 mg oral dose due in part to the continuous nature of the transdermal delivery system.
This transdermal dosage was found effective in treating depression:
