In reply to New use for mifepristone (RU486)?, posted by ed_uk on March 28, 2006, at 16:03:30
Could this lead to mifepristone being more readily available in the future?
Could this lead to people having a more positive attitute toward mifepristone?
Mifepristone has shown some efficacy in the treatment of certain subtypes of severe depressive illness.

I imagine they don't get asked very often, particularly in the UK, where asking for an MAOI might lead to a state of shock.

I heard this on the radio too and was hoping it would mean that it would become more available not that I think it will necessarily help me but at least it would be something else to try.
From what I've heard about RU486 it helps more with psychotic symptoms than actuall depression, this Doctor who conducted a study told me that and I've read some of the studies.
I def get awful PMT so maybe I could try it but It won't be out until 5 years which is a shame.
:-) Like Jahl said, I wonder how you guys are going to be able to get your hands on it, maybe you could get your girlfriends or mothers to request it on your behalf.
