I've read some study abstracts via PubMed that indicate that lithium may attenuate/reduce mood-elevating effects of amphetamines.
Anyone have experience with Lithium + Stim?

Among other things, I take Li and Dexedrine. I was on the dex to help w/ lack of energy, etc. from depression. We added Li b/c the Dex and other meds weren't enough to get rid of the depression. I did respond more to the Li, but we kept the dex in order to maintain the energy AND to help minimize any cognitive side effects of the Li.
It does seem to work (although we've hardly conducted a clean-cut experiment here). My pdoc didn't seem to see a prob w/ the combo. She seemed to imply that stims were sometimes given to combat the cog effects of Li.
Best,
EE
