Seroquel dosages -- largest ever taken ?

Posted by yxibow on March 20, 2006, at 18:08:00

There is at least one treatise mentioning routine dosages in excess of 800mg as much as 2400mg. Its never mentioned much but I am sure there are people who routinely take 900, 1000, 1100. And yes, its somnolescent for me. Thanks.

I'm just curious, dosage, schedule, short dx, and any somnolescence acclimizing (sleep inducing or not over time).

Myself - 1050mg all at night, dx complex somatiform/OC spectrum, somnolescent.

Hello,
I've been at 900 mg for months.. it induced serious somnolence, i used to sleep 12+ hours a day... the sleep issue never got better.. it was mostly to control bipolar upswings... side effects arent that bad otherwise... a resident (student doctor) told me that high doses are very popular...

I can't remember where I saw it, but I found a paper that detailed the use of Seroquel in dosages of up to 1600mg.

So hard to believe -- talk about YMMV! I was having trouble coping with 25 mg at bedtime! I'm up to 50 mg now if I get hypomanic, e.g. staying up past midnight posting on psychobabble <g>, but that knocks me out for 12 hr or more unless I set an alarm and force myself to get up. Thank God for coffee -- the cheapest (and tastiest) AD going -- but that's another thread.

Thank you for your responses -- there surely must be more out there. I am relieved that there have been other high dosage patients, not that I have anything against the years of wisdom of my psychopharmacologist, as we have adjusted the dose over time, I was just curious about somnolescence and side effects.
