I have been prescribed this for anxiousness/anxiety. It's been about a year and I find it no longer seems to do anything at all.
Can anyone recommend an alternative? I see my doc soon and would like some information to discuss with him.

Yes. Klonopin, Xanax, or Valium all work very well for anxiety. Klonopin is what most people take, it works great and has a long 1/2 life. You just have to try them to see which works for you. Good Luck!Tyler
