Good question...I was wondering if anyone had taken a beta blocker with Adderall. I decided to look it up in a PDR, under drug interactions...amphetamine inhibits adrenergic blockers. Provigil has a different mechanism of action, so I dunno.

I'm on atenolol, but have also used propranolol and taken Provigil on a prn basis, per my doctors instructions. While Provigil made me feel more alert, it was more of a "wired" feeling in me, but I'm prone to anxiety side effects of medications. I prefer propranolol to atenolol, so I'm going to ask to either switch back or try pindolol.

My daughter has taken Provigil with Lexapro, with no side effects, but taken with Zoloft, it was a little too stimulating at her "normal" dose. We're going to experiment with a lower dose of Provigil to see how that goes. Other than that it was a smooth drug for her.

I'm interested in the cognitive enhancer thread (Aricept, etc.) I can't tolerate any stimulating meds, but need something to boost energy and attention, especially in the afternoons when I crash.
