Hello!
I'm new here...
I was diagnosed with ADD (inattentive) back in June 2005. I started taking Strattera a few weeks later, and, once I made it through a few weeks of side effects, I found it to be a virtual MIRACLE for me!! It was like putting glasses on my brain!
Unfortunately, the stuff 'pooped out' on me a few months later, and I just can't seem to tolerate going up in dosage. :(
Anyway, seeing as Reboxetine is very similar to Strattera, I was wondering if anyone had experience with this medication for AD(H)D. Has anyone tried Strattera and Reboxetine (at different times) and can compare the two?
Any input would be very much appreciated!!
Thanks!

Has anyone tried Strattera and Reboxetine (at different times) and can compare the two?I have tried both drugs, but for depression, not ADD. They really don't feel like similar drugs to me. Strattera helped for a little while. Reboxetine made my depression much worse and produced much anxiety. I think the drugs are similar on paper if one only considers NE reuptake inhibition generally. They can be very different depending on where this inhibition occurs and the other properties that each of these drugs possess that are not taken into consideration - or even have yet to be discovered.
Desipramine might be a better choice.

Hi SLS;
Thank you for your reply.
I just wondering what doses of each you tried.
Cheers!

Hi.
> I just wondering what doses of each you tried.Darn. I can't remember the dosage of Strattera that I worked up to. 120mg maybe? Reboxetine was 8.0mg per day.
The interesting thing about Strattera is that it can produce sedation or sleepiness early in treatment. Anxiety is usually not a problem. I found reboxetine activating in that it produced a great amount of anxiety - suicidal type anxiety. Of course, everyone reacts differently to these drugs. Unfortunately, I haven't seen too many people respond favorably to reboxetine when used for depression. I don't know the extent to which it might be useful in treating ADD.
