For those who have tried both, thoughts would be appreciated.

Adderall
+ big ad campaign
+ name doesn't have th stigma of dex
- greater BP effect
- wor off roughly
Dexedrine spansules
+ smoother, gentler
+ worked well

Both
- shows up in a pre-employment drug screen
- food effect means the effects are inconsistent
- tolerance can form
- can lead to insomnia

dex is smoother. adderall is more intense physically--it was originally a diet pill. it seems like less dex can be used, which should minimize side effects. adderall is more common though, so you're less likely to have problems @ the pharmacy (there are periodic shortages on controlled substances).

If your doc is willing to do dex, I'd try that...lower dosages, longer clinical history.

There is no reason why adderall should be used instead of d-amphetamine. If d-amphetamine fails, then d-methamphetamine should be used.

I don't now - I take Focalin XR because it doesn't affect by blood pressure. I was taking 45mg dexedrine spansules.
