I have noticed a slight hand tremor at times since I started effexor xr now I am noticing some times at night I get the tremor (or tick) in my neck, it is very mild I don't think anyone but me has noticed it but, it feels very strange like my brain is hiccuping before it does what I am telling it to. Does anyone know? is this considered the "normal" tremor that can come with taking effexor and is there anything I can do to stop it-I am worried it will get worse.
Best of health to all,
Laura

Do you know what a tremor is supposed to feel like?
Because if that is what it is, I get the same thing with effexor esp. in the beginning. My fingers will twitch and I can't stop it. Sometimes my eyelid or my leg will twitch. Sometimes it will last on and off for a couple of days or one day. Don't worry! It should be normal and probably won't get worse. BTW, What dosage are you taking?

Stephany,
Iam only on 75mg as I am still finding what works. I looked up the medical term of tremor and it sort of explained it but there are many kinds of tremors. How long have you been taking effexor? is it working for you?
Best of health,
Laura

Laura,
I have been on effexor 150mlg for about 5 mths. I started out with 75 mlg and I liked it but still wanted more energy so the doctor uped my dose to 150 because at 150 it acts on the seretonin and noripinephrine, not just the serotonin.Effexor has helped me immensly and alot of other people. Remember, everyone is different. I personally want to gradually come off of it or at least lower my dosage because I gained about 7 pnds with it. Not to worry tough! More people lose weight from it, I just happened to not be in that group! Stick with it! But if you ever decide to go off of it, do not go cold turkey. Do it slowly. If you have any questions or just want to talk about any sideffects you may be expericing feel free to write me again! Steph
