dx:
mild cyclothemia (tentative)
social anxiety disorder (pretty severe)
ADDI am taking klonopin 2mg 3x daily which has been helping, but as of two weeks ago I have been coming down from 1250mg daily of Depakote and my anxiety has seemed to shoot up. Is it possible that Depakote plays this big a role in my anxiety? I'm probably going to go back up on the depakote to see if that is the case....but if anybody knows anything about this I'd love to hear. Thanks a lot.

>I noticed a difference in my anxiety level just coming down from 500 to 250 and I've only been on it about a month. Not extreme, but definite.

I was taking Epilim (Valproic Acid Family) and it did calm me down to the point of being a walking vegetable with everything else I was on at the time. I'm still trying to piece together everything that I went through back then and which drugs worked for me and which didn't. After reading your posts, I didn't put 2 and 2 together until I realised that my anxiety did come back after I stopped taking it but I didn't care because I was felling really sick and lethargic so I went to the hostipal and the doc did some blood work. He sent me to another doc 4 days later to get my results. My liver function test was off the scale, which is a very common side effect and everyone on this drug should have this checked regularly. I was never told about this so that is why I stopped taking it and went back to valium instead to smooth out my anxiety. Thanks for jogging my memory, it has been very foggy. I only take valium when needed or mogadon for sleep these days, everything thing else I have stopped for 5 months now and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm still putting alot of things together and this board is helping me greatly.
This is the end of the thread.
