Hi Linkadge,
In one of the above threads, you said that Clomipramine worked for you. In what way did it work for you? Why were you taking it? Depression? OCD? I guess it was the original OCD drug, before Fluvoxamine, right? How long were you on it? I imagine it had pretty bad anticholinergic effects.

I took clomipramine for depression for about 5 months. It was a very effective antidepressnat. If I wasn't in school, I'd still be taking it, but I just started to get really dumb.
I know there are other possible explainations, but thats kind of the way I precieved it.

Hi Linkadge,
That's what frustrates and upsets me most about nearly all of the antidepressants: If they are at all helpful in alleviating the depression, the side effects, like "getting really dumb" or gaining a lot of weight, are unacceptable and intolerable. If only. . .

It's the twitching of the legs, sweating, rapid pulse, anxiety that gets me every time. Fondly, Phillipa

Thats it. And while one may be able to live with the side effects for a short period of time, eventually, certain side effects can work to worsen the underlying illness.
I mean how happy can I be, if I become so dumb that I start to fail everything ?
