I recently had my Effexor dosage of 150mg increased to 225mg due to returning anxiety and depression. My doctor also perscribed me Xanax. Any taking both? Could you please share with me your reactions to them? Thanks a lot!

I was on 300mg effexor and 1-4 mg of xanax as needed a day for a couple of years. Then the effexor stopped working. I slept all the time like 10-15 hrs a day. However, I didn't feel suicidal. I thought it worked wonders for my depression and anxiety issues.
