hi, why does this happen?
Im currently taking Remeron 30mg and Rivotril
0.5mg(KLONOPIN)
I have been very desperate, so I have used
some Xanath 0.25mg from my mom.
One week ago I took instead of my KLONO
2 Xanath pills of 0.25mg and I felt good. The nex day I took again 0.5mg and nothing good happened . I then return to kllono for 1 week.
Yesterday I took 0.5mg of Xanath and feelt
good. Very calm around people. Today I took 1mg
but It was not the same, I was bad again.There is something wrong with me. It seems
that only when starting suddenly something
I feel good.
What can I do?
Do you believe is safe to combine benzos?
I think I have become depedant to klonopin.
what is wrong with that?
Maybe I should give xanath a fair trial
what is the normal dose?Benzos are good meds, they help me more than
ADs for social fear

Since recently going to an old script still valid of xanax,while normaly on klonopin,and keeping the brain kinda guessing,has i believe also played a part in my social behaviour as of late.
I literally feel like im tricking my brain,using the two togther at doses of approx .25 mg for ME has been a blessing,as of to date.

I was looking at pubmed.com and apparently there are some theories that xanax affects neurotransmitters in ways other than gaba. I saw somewhere that it affects dopamine in a positive way at low doses. In my own experience with it, it definitely has significant antidepressant properties in addition to its relaxing sociable properties. Instead of just getting dulled out, I actually get interested and motivated. But that only happens for me at .25mg doses, not higher. I can get that affect by taking .25mg 3 times a day spaced about 4 hours apart. But I've never tried it for longer than 4 days, so I don't know if it would keep working longer term.

Why don´t you find out?Maybe that is the case for me, that I only need small doses, or that I need to take it very seldom just to be fine some days.

Can you tell me what is your schedule to take both benzos? . Do you do this all days or just as needed? . Aren´t you afraid of taking both?

No im not afraid of benzos at all,it works and thats why i go to the docs.
My medication does work just have trouble a lot getting to work enough,so i guess i take comfort in knowing bezos are always a secondary med.
If i did not have a working med period,and i relied on simply benzos non stop,as my primary medication,then i would worry.
I take a small initial dose of benzo with my medication dose,and then yess ill use it as needed on a bad day,but in conjunction with the morning dose the most i usualy need to use miday is like a spec.Its funny how we are made to fear benzos so much,yet they are some of the few medications that do what they are prescribed to do.
Last reading a good article on addiction,and depenedance,i dont ever CRAVE a benzo,never,they not fun medications,instead i take them when i need them,so if i for some reason found myself happy to pop a klonopin and keep going and going lol which wont ever happen im pretty ok.
GHB is something u crave,u get a desired effect,and have to use displcine to stop there,you feel good and wanna continue to dose,and thats one reason why it has a fairly large abuse potential.
Last whew,i find no inter action using the two seperate xanax/klonopin i use both at a approx .25 .5 maybe dose,and i dont notice one over the other ,instead i notice a more stable response.

Thought id mention that the reason i even have xanax was i asked to switch from klonopin,i left it sitting in the pharmacy and went back for klonopin a week or two later cause i found alone xanax to be not much more effective than klonopin,other than i noticed a shorter half life.
Its when using the two,whether at the same time or not i found the actual relieaf i wanted out of a single one,so when i run out of the xanax well see how much fun it will be to ask my doc to give me both.

I Tepi I was prescribed both at the same time by my pdoc at the time. And it isn't dangerous. But when I first started xanax I noticed the same thing. .25mg worked well when the doc upped to .5mg I didn't like how I felt so lowered the dose. Fondly, Phillipa. ps I really hope you feel better soon.

Hi dear phillipa. It seems Xanax helps me a little. I have been 3 days on it. at least I feel calm. I dont feel too worried in this moment.

Tepi, I only wish. Valium l5mg at bedtime. And the other AD's don't work. Horrible side effects force me off them. It's been along 8 and a half years getting worse all the time. Thursday the doc will suggest something else. I hate meds. Fondly, Phillipa

Unless there are medical reasons or such im not aware of.......i think your finaly a candiate,yess its time to consider a Maoi,if u have no altering ovious medical condition,please consider it,my first 2 years on parnate where it hardly pooped seem to give me back some of the prior years i lost on the ssri-go round
