I have to say I really like Lamictal. I am already on Wellbutrin and a moderate dose of Effexor, for depression. Was doing fair. Now we have added Lamictal and once I got to 100mg, I feel better than I have in years! Not perfectly normal, but pretty darn good.
Has anyone heard of cold sweats on Lamictal? This has happened twice, and I think I may have missed a dose each time. So it could be a withdrawal thing, but I have seen nothing about it there.
But I start shivering, feel quite cold, and sweat like mad. Soaking my hair, streams running. Takes about 2 hours to go away. Yuck. I never had a sweating problem on Effexor, but I feel warmer than before.

---You have my sympathy, that is horrible. I think missing the dose might be the problem. I've suffered night sweats for years. I first experienced them after heavy drinking weekends on monday night. Maybe a withdrawal component there.Later after I was on psych meds, the ssri's seemed to bring them on. I also have illnesses that may contribute.
what is interesting is that over the last couple of months on wellbutrin, lamictal, klonopin, they have dissapeared after many years. That makes me wonder about an effexor interaction component to the problem.
Any of you scientific or experienced types out there, I would also love to hear what you could offer.

From what I'm experiencing now myself I think a lot of the SSRI's and SSNRI's contribute to a profuse sweating sensation. I was standing outside during the night in 30degree weather trying to stop sweating. So I took two motrin to lower my body temprature. I think it worked strange as it may seem. But the sweating stopped. Fondly, Phillipa
