Posted by rjlockhart on January 3, 2006, at 13:43:09

I thought it was Quualude ROFL

Ed said something that people say it is like "elephant darts" and causes sedation.

Is this the 1st antipsych, that is prone to abuse?

Hi Matt

>Why have i heard that Seroquel are called Quells

I posted above that prisoners sometimes called it 'quel'.

>Ed said something that people say it is like "elephant darts" and causes sedation.

I never said that!

>Is this the 1st antipsych, that is prone to abuse?

I don't actually think it's particularly prone to misuse. It's not a euphoric drug.

Thioridazine (Mellaril) may have been misused occasionally, perhaps because of its strong anticholinergic properties.

Regards

Ed

Matt you take zyprexa and seroquel I'd imagine it feels about the same. Are you thinking of changing to seroquel? Fondly, Phillipa

I have heard that too.. I read it somewhere (medscape?) Seroquel is nick-named "quells." Apparently it is popular among the members of the prison population..

Well said, Sleepy girl (nm)

Well, I've used it a few times when I really really needed to sleep. When I was sick as heck and couldn't sleep but knew only sleep would help me get over whatever bug I had. Pop 50mg and 30 minutes later I was off to 8h of undisturbed sleep.

But I also have a hard time seeing the "recreational" aspect to it.
