I was writing earlier about depakote possibly quelling my anxiety....I also have cyclothemia but apparently my doctor thinks the social anxiety stems from this? I tend to think so when I really analyze myself. Anybody else ever thought about this?
thanks

hi! I don't know if you can say that cyclothymia or any of the other bipolar disorders "cause" anxiety--mood-stabilizers help with anxiety in these people, but often extra meds/therapy are needed--but Depakote could stop anxiety in milder cases, since it indirectly boosts GABA levels. Personally, though, I don't think Depakote is good for primary anxiety, or people who have lots of anxiety issues.
