The best days in my last 10 years is when I have
stopped a med wait for some days and then I restarted it. All meds give alot of relief doing
this AP´s . SSR´s and mostly Nardil.
I am going to do this in this moment. I dont
know if Paxil CR is the best med to do it but
Im gonna see what happen. Maybe is not gonna
be that good because of ther "CR" (controled
released) but Im doing it
I was taking 12.5 for 7 days , then yesterday I take 25mg . The good response came until 7 PM ( I
took the 25mg a 9 AM ). I was happy. Today
morning I feel sick again. Im not taking Paxil today.
I dont know if I could miss the dose today and
tomorrow, then take 25mg and again miss two days.
This during 10 days so my body can´t adjust to this trick. Then change the schedule again maybe
two days on meds and two days off meds.
I really need of your ideas. Im a desperate guy
who wants to be happy

I've heard of people taking fluoxetine who said they responded better to it if they only took it once or twice a week.
The problem with paxil, is that if you take it and then miss a dose, you will notice it more.

Hey, I've noticed the same phenomenon over the years. If I've been on an antidepressant and then drop the dose, all of a sudden I feel good and normal, refreshed. That goodness goes away in a couple days. If I restart the med, sometimes it feels good when I restart it, but it always feels good again when I drop it again.
I wonder if there aren't some of us out there where our depression is not a matter of how much neurotransmitters are there, but rather the movement of them. There has to be a good flow of them maybe. The antidepressants kind of shore them up and stop the flow. Drop the dose and then there is flow.
Don't know. But I do know the feeling you described. Whether to try it with regular or CR Paxil, don't know. But you know what, even the best of the best out there can't really tell us what's wrong or how the meds work, so what the heck.

benzos like klonopin. Is this my last option in my life? Do I have to do these unusual tricks to have a "normal" life. Why I cant just feel bad and then taking a med and feel normal like "most" of the people here
What else could I try?

Tepi, I don't think anyone feels normal here. When they do they seem to leave. Fondly, Phillipa

In my personal experience, stopping Paxil cold turkey was one the most miserable med experiences ever. I don't know how cr differs from regular though. A doc did it to me while in-patient so she could start me on something else, and when I looked it up I found it should be done gradually. I also don't remember anything about my dosage. I spent the a day lying on the room floor with headphones and a blanket over my head. But, if you don't feel meds that way and can pull it off, good for you. I hate taking meds especially many meds at once, but I'm less able to exactly understand the feelings a particular one causes than others here. Good luck to you, and be safe.

Many times when I've switched between SSRIs (inc. Efexor), always without a brake, I've experience immediate responce lasting up to 10 days.
Examples are: Prozac to Efexor, Seroxat to Efexor (and vice-versa), Lustral to Cipramil, any SSRI to Seroxat.
Others seem to show little difference: Seroxat to Cipramil, any SSRI to Prozac (or prozac from anything for that matter).
I've been tempted before to rotate between Efexor & Seroxat, maybe 7 days on - 3 off - 7 on...., but decided against it - for the best no doubt.
This is the end of the thread.
