I recently switched to Anafranil from Luvox about 5 days ago. The side effects are brutal.
Can you safely switch back to Luvox after taking Anafranil? I took the last dose last night, would it be safe to take Luvox tonight? Thanks.
I am only taking 25mgs of Anafranil and was taking 50mgs of Luvox.

50mg is a starting dose. Anafranil does have a lot of side effects from what I've heard. The question is how long have you been on the anafranil. Did you call your doc? Fondly, Phillipa

I've only been on the Anafranil for 4 days. I called my doc and he said it's fine to go back on the Luvox since the dosages are so low, but there is always a risk of Serotonin Syndrome.
I would prefer the ineffectve Luvox dose than the side effects of Anafranil. This is terrible.
Even though my docotr said what he did, I'd still like your input.
Thanks.

Go back on luvox and each day up to dose to a maximum of 250mg. Fifty is only a starting dose. I was in the hospital when my pdoc rx'd it for me. Day l 50mg at night Day 2 50mg am and pm. Next week up to l50mg always take highest dose at night. I have to say it's been a while and it did work for a while. Good luck. Fondly, Phillipa
