interesting article...

I thought this was interesting- especially for me.

My allergies are awful; I am allergic to so many things, never dawned on me there could be a connection.

I ignore you neither..

THANK YOU for taking the time to make a post and let us know about this article
:-)

I also had some allergies when I was younger and most of them are gone by now on its own...

I also wonder why most drugs I respond to are also antihistamines...

And well, fever makes me drastically feel better..

And once, when I was on Reboxetine, I had a few days I felt very good actually, but at that time my ears, nose and throught were severelx inflamed. but no infection was present. nor any pain. it was WEIRED

so I bet there is also something with my immune system wrong. But I am not sure what was first..

I've gotten temporary relief from depression by taking anti-histamimes. I tried to bring up this subject with my p-doc and he blew it off.

I first noticed it with Nyquil (maybe I'll take some tonight).

Wm Walsh and the Pfeiffer Center have some interesting theories and treatments.

warm regards ~Jake

Ditto! Luckily there's not a single thing I am allergic to (that I know of!)

Kind regards

Spriggy, I think I can relate to what the article was talking about! I have terrible allergies. Well, they're not as bad as some of my friends have, who have to get allergy shots. I just get seasonal allergies to dust, pollen, etc. But I feel terrible with all the sneezing, itching symptoms, etc... Sometimes, even after taking Alavert, my preferred med, I feel terrible and have to rest to feel better. I also suffer(ed) from moderate to severe depression. Recently, I have a cold for about a week, and right after that, I had what my pdoc called a hypomanic episode, couldn't sleep, racing thoughts, etc. I was feeling down because of the cold and then felt stressed cuz I had to make up so much work. So there may be a connection? What do you think? What are your experiences? Thanks! Take care, Lucia

Well, after musing about this stuff, I decided to make a complete allergy test, because thats actually something which did when I was ~ 10 years old. And now 16 years later things might look a lot different.

And an ohter thing I noticed, when I feel drpressed, I often have some facial swelling/edema, and when I take diphenhydramine (anti-hitamine), it improves depression and edema/swelling. And facial edema might be a an allergic symptom. Coffee helps too, but I crash after some while. Coffe, for a short time causes the release of adrenaline, which has a potent "anti allergic" effect. which fades quickly, hence the crash, maybe... hmmm

And my nose if permanently swollen.... Maybe due to a lack of catecholamines or an allergic symptom as well..

I surely will make a test and will let you people know about the results.
