I have been searching for something to take with klonopin (which I take for GAD & SAD) that helps improve energy and mood. I have more of a problem with anxiety than with depression.
The klonopin is working good (1.5mgs at night), but feel it agrivates my mild depression/energy. I tried Provigil with it today (50mgs) and felt really good.
It was funy as unlike my usual self I just went about my business and didn't focus on "how I was doing." I found that before I knew it I had moved furniture, cleaned the house, did tasks I have been putting off and visited friends and family. I was social too.
My doctor said the good thing about the Provigil trial is that I'd know if it worked in a day or two. I like that part of it as I have done my share of (30 day trials) and am sick of them.
Provigil is a mild stimulant that for some doesn't have the typical stimulant side affects of anxiety/the shakes, ect. (like I get with from just one cup of coffee).
I felt sharp for the first time in a while and noticed when reading my comprehension was much improved. My mood was much better.
Obviously too soon to be the pitch man for Provigil, but day one was great. Just thought I'd throw it out there for those that struggle with similar issues, another option to consider. I'm looking forward to waking up and having another productive day......

Again, another productive day. I keep waiting for anxiety to kick in with all this energy I have, but so far so good.
It comes on real smooth in the morning and seems to stay at the same level all day, no crashing at night. So far so good. Mood seems up.
Again, I enjoy the fact that it isn't one of those meds that you need to take for a month to work (or see if it works).
Tomorrow I think I'll drop down to 1/3 of a pill (33mgs instead of 50) and see how that goes.
Otherwise I'm sure it could be taken as needed. I guess I'll play with it till it feels best.Better than any anti depressants I've taken for mood and energy.
Anyway, still to soon for any verdict, but so far so good.......

Provigil has provided me with energy when I am drained. Seems to be a straight forward drug, the more you take, the more energy. Immediate response, you don't have to wait weeks for it to work. I have played with doses from 50mgs to as little as 12.5. Benefits are dose related. A little gives you a little more energy, lots gives you a ton of energy.
All in all it is something I will use on a prn basis, but doesn't seem to be the complete combo to klonopin that I am looking for. Its much better than any of the anti depressants I've tried. There doesnt seem to be any additioinal social anxiety benefits, just an alert feeling. No naps with this stuff.
For those that want their cup of coffee, but don't tolerate caffeine, this would be something to try....
This is the end of the thread.
