Tegretol - Anyone had success with as augmentor?

My new Psychiatrist has just added 200mg of Tegretol to my Seroxat. I've already tried this drug on it's own with no change at all.

I was wondering if anyone on here has had success using Tegretol as an add on to an antidepressant and if so how long did it take to work.

I can't bear to have to go through a six week trial of it if it's not going to work.

Denise..

I have no idea why your doc gave you tegretol unless you have bipolar tendancies.
Usually lithium is added to augment an AD.
For me tegretol has a depressive effect that's why I added lexapro .
So sorry you're still getting no joy.

Good Morning Denise,

Tegretol induces its own metabolism for the first week or so. Also, it has a lot of drug interactions. May take a while for you to see anything. Good luck.

Hi YA!

Very effective AM pill, but when i took the 200mg pills 2x daily, they made me very depressed-chase your tail ha?
