I've decided to help people when they
ask me to help. This worrying about
others' meds has exhausted me and has
not gotten me as far as i would like;
I just tried to help some people at a
usenet group, thinking they might profit
from my recent experience with a dud supply
of lithium, and how i escaped the mixed
states fall, and it made no impression.
I think I have done some good recommending
a benzo for insominia for example, but it's like pulling teeth and i never even got a thank you.
So, I think I will follow my doctor's
MO and provide help when asked for it.
It's a bit like watching someone step in
front of a train without looking, though.Squiggles

I don't know if you are referring to something that happened here or somewhere else but at any rate, I'm sorry that happened to you. Your insight and experiences may have indeed helped someone or many and there just wasn't an acknowledge of that. That's not a good feeling. In the times we are living, manners don't seem to be something we put high emphasis on.
Again, I'm sorry that happened to you.

I am also sorry that this happened to you. It is sad when someone doesnt notice that you have tried to lend a helping hand.
I have come to the conclusion that when I help people, I am doing it strictly because I want to or I know that that is what God wants me to do. That way, if no one says thanks, it is ok. I am not doing it for a thanks.

Sometimes people just forget to thank you I believe. If they follow your advise that is a thank you to me. Fondly, Phillipa

thank you for contributing to this message board. we are grateful to have someone with such a wonderful heart that wants to help others with their own experiences.
and you know how it is, when you worry about or help other, it takes your mind off yourself and your own problems. it's a healthy thing. thanks!

Thank you for your kind words. The thing
about suicide -- it is relevant to antidepressant
medications, especially in the interim time
of taking them and waiting for them to work.
This is what I experienced not with the SSRIs
which have become notorious on this matter and
the lawsuits have forced drug companies to
place warnings on them, but on lithium as well.In a depressed state without monitoring, it
is easy to take your life, but it is even
easier, if you have a computer to go to the
usenet group xxx to
check out how to do it while you are desperate. And let's not forget xxx and all kill
ourselves. So, is there a way to take such groups down?
If that sounds altruistic, it's not; it is
self-interest first and imagination of how
others might be affected second, esp. loved
ones. You're welcome :-)Squiggles

Even when the intent is to warn others, since there's no telling how that information will be used. I've revised the FAQ:

Follow-ups regarding this are welcome, but should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration.
Thanks,
Bob
