seroquel has done wonders for my anxiety. it is the first med of the 20-30 i've tried that really nails that rush of nervous energy that i have felt for 8 years.

however, it does come with a trade-off. not only do i sleep great, but i am groggy often when awake. and yes, i have gained weight, but it could come from being less active as much as from the med slowing down my metabolism. i dont know.

for me, a few Xtra lbs and grogginess has been well worth the anxiety relief.

Have you experienced any memory issues on Seroquel as well as grogginess? Do you feel much slooooooower on the Seroquel throughout the day, or just in the morning? When do you take your dose at night? My daughter just started 6.25mg of Seroquel and we've noticed not necessarily the grogginess, but cognitive slowing.

Thanks.

about weight gain on that dosage.

I took it for about a week- 50 mg's.

I didn't like it. I felt like my head was heavy and like it was rearranging my brain chemistry (almost like it was moving around furniture upstairs!).

It felt sooo forced to me. My sleep the first night was "knock me out" but the last time I took it, it was not restful sleep at all.

no, absolutely no memory loss or confusion.

grogginess? yes, all day. well, until i start drinking caffeine. but again, it is worth it for me, to nail the anxiety.

6.25 mg? i thought the lowest was 25mg. i take it about an hour before i want to sleep. and boy do i sleep good. and i tell you, if i dont get good sleep, it ruins the rest of the day. sleep is huge!

yes, i remember now the first 1-3 weeks i was on seroquel, i did feel like i was spaced out and groggy. but the spaced out part went away after my body got used to it.

be patient.

So you think it's better for sleep than valium? And what about depression does it help? Fondly, Phillipa

it all comes back to sleep for me. thats why seroquel has been a miracle drug for me.

first of all, it nails that rush of nervous energy that i have felt 24/7. you know what i am talking about? when your mind races and races, and it is hard to focus on one thing? well, seroquel hits that. slows me down. calms me.

secondly, and maybe more importantly, it gets me sleep. if i dont get my sleep, it ruins everything for the following day. i feel more anxious, depressed, hopeless, etc.

but as you know, every med affects everyone differently. you will have to see what works for you. something will, you just have to try this and that. good luck.

I went from 190 pounds to 290 in a year while on Seroquel. Now I can barely get the weight off. Docs said that the Seroquel has made me pre-diabetic.

THANKS SEROQUEL!

i can see that happening. for me, ive gone from 235 to 250. i cannot speak for you, but for me, a lot of it has to do with my inactivity.

the seroquel may or may not slow down my metabolism. however, it definetly makes me groggy throughout the day, which in turn makes me less active. then i have the choice to get up and do something about it, or be lazy. unfortunately, often i choose lazy.

I found seroquel too good for sleep, to the point where I couldn't wake up the next day and when I finally got out of bed I was a walking zombie for the entire day. If I haven't been sleeping properly I wait until I have a day off work and take it the night before hand so I'm guarenteed a good sleeping catch up from an insomnia attack. That was from only 25mg's. Inactivity does play a part - but I again blame the Seroquel for much of the inactivity - it put me in such an apathetic, lethargic mood.
