High Dose Nardil?

Posted by Jedi on October 1, 2005, at 4:20:39

Hi Guys,
I'm debating increasing my Nardil dosage from 90mg to 120mg per day. I want to try this to see if I can knock out the residual dysthymia, anhedonia, and social anxiety from my treatment resistant double depression. My only side effects at 90mg are weight gain and delayed ejaculation. I realize these will probably increase on the increased dosage. Other options would be to raise my clonazepam from 1mg daily to 2 or 3mg, or add a mild stimulant.
Has anyone use Nardil at 120mg or higher for an extended period of time? I know the PDR reports 90mg as a max but obviously this can be pushed. I currently weigh 122kg, so to come close to the 1mg/kg effective dose 120mg would not be out of line. Any comments or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jedi

I think something that works on NE or DA would help with the depression. Might make the SA worse. Raising klonopin would probably make the depression worse.

Hi Jedi

Will you try 105mg first?

Hi Ed,
Yes, The plan is to go to 105mg for a couple of weeks first, to see if that works. Then up to 120mg for another two or three weeks. If the response is not favorable, go back down to 90mg and try augmentation (NE or DA).
Thanks,
Jedi
