i am trying to wean myself off the effexor xr. i am taking 10mg of lexapro and 100 mg of seroquel. should i stop taking the effexor and start the lexapro ive been taking on half of 37.5 of effexor for 1 week. i am so worried it will cause me a lot of anxiety. also is seroquel better than risperdal. because i have a prescription for risperdal for 1mg. any suggestions

Hi, I would seriously ask your prescribing physcian about this. Effexor is nothing to mess around with. I had the worst withdrawals off of that med --- who doesn't?! I love Seroquel, and I think it is 'better' than Risperdal by far - too many side effects from Risperdal. Can raise Prolactin levels in women--ouch! It sounds like you really need to get this all straight with a physician. You are talking about a few different meds here. Why are you weaning off of the Effexor? Maybe ask your physician for a benzo short term?
