armodafinil (Nuvigil)

Posted by SLS on September 23, 2005, at 6:37:08

I believe armodafinil (Nuvigil), a sister drug of modafinil (Provigil), is in phase III clinical trials. Armodafinil is the r- enantiomer of modafinil in the same way Lexapro is the s- enantiomer of Celexa. I don't know what advantages there are to using this drug. The drug representative was pretty, though.

Probably not as pretty as the girls who 'advertise' oral contraceptives though ;-)

Same as Focalin to Ritalin - less side effects.

Has this been your personal experience with these two drugs?

I think Cephalon will try to get an indication for ADHD with armodafinil.

Yes with Focalin. Nuvigil not on market yet but this is what Cephalon claim

Modafinal is going off patent soon isn't it? I have read that focalin is cleaner, almost like a different drug for some people. I personally had no side effects to speak of with either ritalin or provigil, lexapro had bothersome side effects.

Aren't they all?
