I've heard depakote can sometimes be usefull for movement problems associated with psychiatric meds.
Does anyone have any literature on this ?

I don't have literature on it, but I did take 250 mg's of Depakote when I was having the hardest time coming off of Lexapro.
The only way I can describe it was it felt like I was giving my brain a nice warm, cozy bath.
It helped me calm down and sleep.
I wasn't on it for long but it did relieve some symptoms for me.

Since stopping SSRi's, I have a hard time executing movements.
I also have this feeling like my head is being twisted to the left. Floating, pushing, dizziness, wobbling floor, sinusoidal head rotations etc etc...

Spriggy I didn't know you took depakote? Was it like a benzo or what? Fondly, Phillipa

I took 250 mg's when I had a seizure (during my withdrawals from Lexapro). I've never had a seizure before in my life until then.
They gave me Depakote ( wanted me to take 500 mg but I refused) for the seizure and also for mood stabilization ( I was completely wigged out).
It made me feel very "warm" in my brain-- like my brain was soaking in a hot tub jacuzzi. It was pleasant.
I didn't have to take it for long though.
This is the end of the thread.
