HI,
As i'm going to have another prozac trial (cause it was the only one ad that had some effects and no sedation on me). I am Hypersensitive to drug, so usually half or quarter of normal dosage seems to work well for me.
So i was asking if there is a prozac dosage (for example 10 or 5 mg day) that minimize or don't give those nasty sex side effects always reported on board.
Could anyone share any esperience or help me in this dosage?
Thanks to everyone for the share and help!

at one point five mg worked for me with wellbutrin. I was able to have normal sexual functioning, though it might have somewhat effected my desire. Or it might have been my desire was low because of a bad choice of boyfriend! I definitely had an anxiolytic effect from the low dose.

I did well on prozac for a few years at just 10mg, and then for a few more years at 20mg, and never had any sexual problems at all. But, I think the reason is because I also took other meds that block the serotonin receptors that cause the sexual problems. Remeron 7.5mg to 15mg worked well for that and I was using it for a couple years. Then I switched to zyprexa 2.5mg to 5mg. Had I not taken those and did just prozac, I probably would have had sexual problems.

The author of "Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain", Elio Frattaroli, suggests that the "sexual side effects" of SSRIs may be in fact one of their PRIMARY effects; that is, you suppress libidinal energy, and you eliminate a lot of neuroses/intrapsychic conflict/frustrations/etc. The whole picture obviously involves several different metaphysical and physical substrates, but I think there is something to this ...
It would be better to augment the SSRI with a dopamine agonist like cabergoline/ropinirole/pramipexole/bromocriptine/apomorphine/piribedil(sp?)
/lisuride, amphetamine, methylphenidate, bupropion, etc, instead of seeking a lower dose. In fact, the dopaminergic drug will probably profoundly enhance its antidepressant effect.I recommend full D2 agonists like the cabergoline/ropinirole/etc because they suppress prolactin, which is increased by SSRIs. Cabergoline is most efficient at this, and you may be able to get away with only 0.5mg TWICE WEEKLY. However, 2.5mg/day of it is a robust antidepressant au gmentation dose (I can provide case report).
