Well I've been coming off Abilify for 5 days now. My book (Breggin) says I should not try an aburpt withdrawal, so I've been takig the odd odes/half-dose whe neccesary. I also tried using a herbal remedy to help me sleep but it was making my head fuzzy so I stopped today.
I can't say I've had that many problems. Has anyone else tried coming off this new-wave anti-psyscotic? (Note: I was only on it for 5 weeks - before it was Risperdal).

This stuff's halflife is so long (72hr) you can probably just quit. Also, Breggin may mean well, but he seems not to understand a lot of things about drugs that a psychiatrist who has such extreme positions should.

Chairman that's a long halflife like prozac or valium. Thanks for the info. Fondly, Phillipa

Thanks for the advice, Chairman. Maybe I've been messing about with it. I'd be interested to hear more about Breggin.

I tapered off--from 20 to 10 to 5 mg. and had no problems. I don't think it was doing anything for me in the first place.
I.
