So nauseous and tired in the morning

Posted by Maxime on September 18, 2005, at 19:25:52

No, I am not pregnant.

I feel so disgusting in the morning. I feel like I going to throw up and sometimes I do. I've tried eating something and I've tried not eating. It feels like a form of anxiety. It only goes away by the afternoon.

Is that what anxiety feels like?

MMmm.... that sounds like some blood flow not working right. Are you dizzy?

I have anxiety in the mornings, but have to go to Collage, so i take Dexedrine.

That does sound like some form of anxiety, i dont exactly know. You could take some form of an antiaxiety med, such as Ativan or Klonopin.

I take 6mg of Klonopin daily. I have bad anxiety. I am going through alot right now, my grandma is losing her mind, my mom has a rage disorder, i go to the nursing home and see all these people crazy, i i cant take it! there talking to hallucinations, And i already worry about myself having a disorder.

Anyways, sorry, i just got back. Well, im not a doctor but some form of antianxiety and i dont know Tums? antiacid, could help nausea.

Im glad your back.

Take Care

Matt

Sometimes, but it could also be med side effects. Do you take something at bedtime? If so, it could be lingering side effects. I know that I have often had nausea as a s/e. Ginger candy or mint gum can sometimes help my nausea.

Best,

One of several possibilities definately

I would agree. If you live near a Trader Joes, Australian crystallized ginger is good, or just chewing the raw ginger they sell (that's a matter of taste, I happen to be one of the odd people who like raw ginger) -- these can also be found at your typical health food store.

Anxiety is very powerful and can affect the autonomic nervous system. I know when my OCD was high, I would feel intense warm feelings in my head, dizzyness, all sorts of fight or flight feelings. Also, a large percentage of the serotonin cells in your system are located in the stomach region.

Hope you feel better

Hi Maxime,

I'm glad to see you although I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a difficult time.

Regarding the nausea, I have that every now and then. For me, I think it happens at certain times in my cycle and also when I'm very sleep-deprived. For example, it often happens when I have to travel a lot. I rarely get enough sleep when I travel. Anyway, as Emily suggested, ginger helps a lot. Do you get Vernor's ginger ale where you live? We don't get it in the Northeast U.S., but it's available in the MidWest. I think it's the best ginger ale. If you can't get that, then the other brands will do. Trader Joe's makes some ginger candies.

It sounds as if you have a good understanding of what happened at work. Even though it's upsetting that you don't have a job right now, from the way you described that place, I think you're probably better off not being at an organization like that.

I hope you'll feel better very soon!

Sarah

I think you are right. I take trileptal and klonopin at night. Trileptal made me nauseous when I first started taking it. I haven't been eating much either. I should try and add a little salt to my diet as the Trileptal reduces sodium in the body. Thanks! :-)

Thanks Sarah. It could also be lack of sleep as well. I haven't been sleeping much for the past couple of month. First it was the stress of the job and now it's the stress of not having the job!

Sigh.

We don't have Trader Joes in Canada (sadly) but I can go to health food store and find something similiar. I have been drinking ginger tea which helps a bit. I don't want to keep drinking ginger ale because of the sugar and I can't drink diet soda.

I think ginger is a great healer.

Thanks ... everyone is so helpful and sweet.

A hysical manifestation of anxiety! » Maxime

I have been there! My second year in college I found myself wanting to throw up every morning. I was in the Pre-Nursing curriculum and was having a rough time with my Chemistry course. I was throwing up my hypothyroid medication and I went to the Health Center. The wonderful doctor I met there told me I was "scared sh*tless" that I'd let myself down and the anxiety was causing me to vomit. I dropped Chemistry which disqualified me from the program, but the anxiety and vomitting went away. Here I sit now, unemployed, but pretty happy.

Wishing you better times,
Colleen

Hi Maxime,

I've been wondering whether your nausea started recently or has it been going on for a while? I ask because I have been feeling extremely tired, achey and intermittently nauseated the past few days. Perhaps there's some bug going around.

Does anyone here think that men and women are differently disposed to not eating/feeling nauseous in the mornings? I've known lots of women like this, but no men I can think of. Or is it some cultural thing?
