I'm trying once again to use Trileptal as a mood stabilizer (along with Wellbutrin).
With everything I've tried, Klonopin is the best. Does anyone use Klonopin for their mood stabilizer?

I used to take Effexor. Now I need to start an AD. why are you taking WB instead of Eff? Did WB make you tired? Effexor made me cycle (cyclothymia). Does Wellbutrin?
Thanks, Sorry I know nothing about trileptal. Klonopin has been a faithful med for me for 6 years at the same dose of .5-1mg/day. I went off it totally recently only to go back on for sleep.

Effexor was the best thing I've ever taken for anxiety. BUT - if I missed even one dose, I was in hell. I just didn't want to continue taking something that made me feel so addicted. It took me about a month to get off of 75mg. The withdrawl is the worst thing I've ever experienced - dizzy, throwing up, could't walk a straight line, I was suicidal for a fews days, couldn't stop crying (I had to call in sick to work). For the first time in my life I was actually afraid I would kill myself. This was all from the Effexor withdrawl! Now that I am clean of it, I feel great. Now I understand those new stories about people killing themselves when they are on an AD - withdrawing from Effexor made me want to off myself.
I was left taking only Wellbutrin (which I took when I was on Effexor). Wellbutrin has been the best for depression. It makes me a little anxious, which is why I have been taking Klonopin. My doctor would rather I be on Trileptal or another mood stabilizer. But, I have never had to take more than 1mg a day of Klonopin, so I don't see what the problem is.
The only time Wellbutrin makes me tired is when I tried to go from 200mg a day to 300mg a day. For some reason the higher dose makes me a zombie. My doctor is baffled - he feels it should have made me even more hyper at the higher dose. Sometimes I wonder if these doctors slept through medical school. Don't they ever read about the drugs they perscribe.
