Hi guys,
Hi Ed, where are you, are you ok? I saw Phillipa's post.
Just thought I'd do a little update on stupid Clozapine.
Side effects are...
1) Tiredness is a joke. I sleep ALL NIGHT (10pm-12pm) and then all afternoon. I finally start to function at about 7pm in the evening.
2) I'm nauseous all the time and have thrown up twice (usually in the morning when I am trying to NOT fall asleep. The effort makes me want to vomit).
3) I'm feeling LOW. Maybe even a bit depressed, don't know why.
4) THE EMBARASSING PROBLEM. I keep loosing control of my bladder at night (eek!). I keep wetting the bed. I wake up half way through and think, "what the hell am I doing???!". Does anyone know if this is a side-effect of Clozapine? It's very embarassing. Maybe it's because they put me into such a deep sleep (?).
Anyway, that's it. I am on 425mg a day and I am still getting all the side effects and absolutely NO postive effects. Grr.

It is a VERY common side effect of Clozapine. I work with chronic schizophrenics, most of whom are on Clozapine, and 3/4ths of them have this problem.

Hi katie, I wish Ed were here too. Have you E-mailed him his box must be full. And the Board is empty. I wish I could add more to your question but didn't Ed say something about 300mg? Was that when you could go home? And how high are they planning on raising your dose. Are you still paranoid? Fondly, Phillipa

I work with chronic schizophrenics, most of whom are on Clozapine, and 3/4ths of them have this problem.I imagine you've seen this in your work; sometimes this can be treated with anti-enuresis / overactive bladder medications such as Ditropan XL (oxybutynin chloride).
