Lamictal at doses higher than 200mg-effective??

Posted by Mandy on August 30, 2005, at 12:23:03

I have bipolar and use lamictal as mood stabilizer and it has been great. Recently, I have had a lot of anxiety and racing thoughts so my psych upped my lamictal from 300mg to 375mg--150 in am and 225 in pm. I have read somewhere that lamictal is really not advised at doses above 200mg so I am confused. I trust my psych but would like to know others opinion and experience. Thanks

i was on lamictal for a while but went off it because it shot my anxiety through the roof....but while taking it i was at 200mg daily. he didnt mention anything about higher doses being unsafe, but he did say once you get to 200, anything more really won't make a difference.
