Does anyone here take Ritalin/Concerta/Metadate or dexedrine/aderall and do vigorous exercise?
If so, how do you time workout and medication?
How do the meds affect your workout? If I take Concerta before the gym I seme to feel sluggish -
which I didn't expect. Best thing about the meds with sport is that they leave me sufficiently organized to get to the gym! The worst is that they can exacerbate overheating so I look like a trembling mutant sweaty tomato that is about to burst through its overtight skin.I'd be keen to hear what others do.

Maybe this happens because the med makes the heart beat faster - then it must beat especially hard when exercise is involved.
I don't exactly know what to do about it. I have thought about not taking Dexedrine when I exercise but then maybe I wouldn't even go to the gym! :-)

> DonnaDonna,
Thats exactly how it feels for me. My workouts ending being shorter than usual and I feel weaker. It's weird because I look as though I am losing body fat and gaining muscle yet feel weak. Maybe its the lack of sleep?

Ritalin made me feel weak because of loss of sleep/appetite.

>Stimulants enhance performance in most sports, which is why they're banned from the Olympics, and heavily used/abused by athletes. Anaerobic activity is especially enhanced. Drink plenty of water.
