Hey folks here we go again.....
I was on celexa and I couldnät take the apathy-no energy,no motivation. So...
I'm on reboxetine 4mg twice daily and a tiny amount of celexa/cipramil...Right so straight down to it:
Good points:
¤ NO panic attacks, aniexty whatsoever; its the best med I've ever tried for aniexty
¤ depression lifted
¤ Stops me sleeping too much
¤ Gives me more motivation and concentration
¤ Stops me getting bored with things
¤ No apathy and has increased my socialabiity
¤ Has seriously curbed my eating habits; I can no say 'no' to food when I'm not hungry. I was rather a comfort eater before! Now when I get full I stop.
¤ Given me my libido back! And I can actually ahem, enjoy myself fully between the sheets (sorry Iäm a shy gal!) but thats probably just because Iäve nearly stopped the cipramil.Bad points:
¤ acne - for some reason I have developed acne
¤ made me sweat abit more than usual, perhaps thats to blame for the acne?
¤ My period has disappeared (hang on, isnät that a good point??!) I'm seriously overdue. And no, I canät be pregnant!
¤ Yeah, alcohol, it makes you alot more pissed than usual...(is that a good point too?) and can make you space out really easily. Also its the classic you think you arenät pissed at the time, but the next day you realise that you were!So overall:
Reboxetine is great for aniexty and panic and also good for depression, and with fewer of the typical side effects of the SSRIs, (particulry compared to the celexa-cipramail I was on), like libido loss, apathy, over sleeping, over eating, and the kind of numb feeling that you get. It has also increased my motivation and concentration. I will continue taking it.
Phew! Now I think that there should be definately something in the archives regarding reboxetine!!

Thanks for the update. Your description certainly deserves to be archived.
I wish you continued success with your treatment regime. Your story makes for a good testimonial to the desireability of having as many treatment tools available as possible, regardless of how many people any one tool is helpful for. The chances of any one person getting well is enhanced by the availability of reboxetine.

Hi Meri!
I am delighted that you are doing well on Reboxetine! I think you approached the entire transition very well, and I hope your experience will encourage others to try Reboxetine VERY slowly and at a low dose for several weeks. I do think I will try it again some day, and I will follow your example. The trouble is, Reboxetine isn't available in the U.S., and I found it to be a huge hassle to order it from overseas. My doctor gave me an rx for it, and I ordered it from a pharmacy that my doctor considers to be the only reputable online pharmacy. We did everything right, but the turnaround time, from the time I ordered it until the time I received it was close to a month. If I decide to resume Reboxetine, I'd have to constantly take that time lag into consideration.
I hope you continue to improve, and I hope you have a wonderful time in Finland.

Yep me too, it was abit of a gamble, but hey.

Some. A cover my face every night with a thin film of the 2.5% stuff. I guess it'll take a while before it all clears up.

Thankyou for your kind words...I'm glad its working too. I think reboxetine is helpful in my case simply because its not cipramil-celexa, and also because its more energising. Additionally I suspected that I might be mildly ADD, which is one of its uses apparently. I canät remember how I came across the idea of trying reboxetine. But I researched it well, and asked my GP to prescribe it and here we are. I have to say that its amazing regarding anxiety/panic and also with the depression. Rather than making you feel numb, it kind of enables you to see why you're feeling like you are, and sort of changes some of your thought patterns which seems to be half the battle!! For instance, instead of being 'I hate my life' its more like 'how can I change it?' if you get what I mean.
ANyway I'm having a relaxing time here in finland. Shame I have to leave! They have a great lifestyle here. I might consider moving here.....

You were saying your possibly ADD, perhapse that why you find Rebox so calming?
ADD people are supposed to find stimulants calming, have you ever tried Amphetamines?I'd like to visit Finland, most of the Finish people I've met have been really nice
Most places seem to have a better lifestyle than the UK, though in my prejudiced opinion LOL

Could be. I'm finding it really great for aniexty. (have I mentioned this before! LOL!!)

I would LOVE to try amphetamines, but I don't think my GP would prescribe them! Just from what I've heard, I mean GPs in the UK were pretty relucant to let me try reboxetine, let alone amphetamines. I don't know what the story is with them in the UK. Or with ritalin for adults for that matter.

Yes its nice!! And no, there isn't any snow here at all, in fact its been 21C here today.

Yeah I agree on that point entirely. For some reason I don't particulary like the UK; its crowded, expensive, busy, noisy etc etc. I guess it'd be okay if you were really rich, then you could actually afford somewhere nice to live and do stuff. In the Finnish town I'm in people actually don't lock their bikes up when they are parked in town - I couldn't believe it when I first saw it!!

Crazy heh? I really couldn't believe it. Heh well,i can't imagine that happening in ANY British town! And my mother lives in a town of 27,000 people, so its not exactly tiny.
